whats the dumbest things you've heard while having a conversation about cars
now i am not an expert on cars, but i do notice when people say things very dumb and though i don't always correct them i do get that inner voice that says "wait a minute thats not right".
what have you encountered........
i'll start it off..........
heard some guy say he had a DIESEL engine car in which he increased his performance by get performance SPARK PLUGS.

an old buddy of mine had a stock celica and really like his buddies eclipse gst bcz of the woosh from the blow-off valve. he said he was going to get a blow-off valve for his celica. when i asked if he was going to get a turbo-kit, he replied no. just the blow-off valve!

Met some jackasses a parking lot with a mustang. They wanted to race so to try to scare me they turn on the car to acc. and you could hear the fuel pump and the kid goes you hear that? And I go what, the fuel pump? He goes yea, that means it's a race car. I almost fell over.
So I walk to my car and turn it on (gvr4 with lose alt. tensioner so the alt. belt is squeeling like all hell) rev. it up a couple times and all you could hear was this horendous alt. belt sound and yelled "you hear that, that means race car".
They didn't want to race after that.

"my mustang doesn't have a V8. i think it has a V4." but in fairness, that was spoken by a girl who cared nothing about cars and drove an old mustang.

I was in a parking lot going to my car and a guy asks if i wanted to race. I asked him what he was running he told me, LS with Type-R Cams, Type-R pistons, and a Type-R block.
Also talking to a guy i asked what he had done and he said "intake headers and exhaust, but i dont think im a ricer because i dont have rims"
