Well I could see that point if this occurred during the evening hours when it was dark..... then and only then can I fathom it as being "dangerous" to "flash your headlights" cause it may blind some damn body...lol
but this happened in the afternoon and personally I think he just was pissed that I was warning others to slow down and since he had such a hard on to give someone a ticket that day I guess I’m the one that got f*cked for trying to be courteous to other drivers cause lord knows I appreciate it when someone in the oncoming lane flashes there headlights at me to let me know there’s a popo hiding up ahead.

 

So if you turn them on and then off, does that make it legit? -Bob

What happened to that "ask a cop" section? I have a few questions about this one...

My main question being, the point of tickets are to slow people down, right? I know there are other reasons (quota, paying other things and such) but if you ask a cop his answer would probably be "to slow down traffic and keep order on the roads". What is the difference between someone flashing their headlights to oncoming traffic and the cop giving a ticket? They are both slowing traffic and keeping order. So much for Americans helping each other...

 

My HID's got me pulled over and he asked me "Did you know why I pulled you over?" im like no? "You had your brights on for over a mile" im like I dont have brights how can I have them on O.o. I then demonstrated and he let me go and felt like an idiot im sure lol.

 

The Officer may have succeeded at what he wanted to do. Make you think twice about warning people about a speed trap. You have two options. 1) Pay the fine or 2) Spend your time going to court and fighting it. The Officer may know it is going to get thrown out, but you had to spend your day to get the issue resolved. Next time you pass a speed trap you will think about all the time it took you to get this resolved and you may not flash your lights. As a bonus everyone that reads the thread will wonder if it is worth the hassled of warning other drivers of an upcoming speed trap.

last time when i was in my friend's 'stang..we got pulled over..
he said not to call until the cop let us go..my friend said that we could get another ticket if were got caught warning others about the speedtrap

so we just called the others n told them to watch out..after the cop let us leave..

 

It's no hassel for me to go to court where I live...nor will it stop me from warning others in the future. Sadly its pricks like the one I dealt with that abuse the power that is causing a waste of the courts time and giving good officers a bad rap
