How the US fell out of love with its cars

whats a counter part to the vette, WS6, and Mustang?
Man, another one of these discussions. I thought about typing up something worthwhile, but then I remembered it's just going to turn into an import vs. domestic fest. Kinda like the last time I posted something like this. Anyway, in for a free post.

there is not a single import with a v8 worth a damn (excluding the gto, which doesn't really count anyways zate ) and there is no longer a single american car with a 4 or 6 cylinder motor worth a damn (i like mine, but being out of production kinda nixes that) which is why i think chrysler is finally doing the right damn thing by stuffing hemis into every product they make. hell i think the soda machines in their production plants are hemi-powered. it's a shame it took being bought out by a german company to get back to their roots. ford i think will have a better year now that their flagship shitbox company car has some appeal to it rather than looking like the last hungover beer shit i took... the mustang is huge, and the new camaros and challengers are going to hopefully wake up the big 3 to the fact that the only way they can get back their market share is by building truly american cars, with big engines, lots of torque, and that whole muscle thing.

and to reiterate what i said earlier, these cars are what's going to help recapture SOME lost ground, things will never go back to the way they were in the late 60's and early 70's where american cars were selling like 308 to 1 vs. imports.

the saturn sky/pontiac solstice are rebadged and face-lifted opels
the caddillac cts was made in germany, gto in australia, the list goes on and on
kinda sucks that they have to do stuff outside of the country to do it right, but atleast the company is American
