whats a counter part to the vette, WS6, and Mustang?

Man, another one of these discussions. I thought about typing up something worthwhile, but then I remembered it's just going to turn into an import vs. domestic fest. Kinda like the last time I posted something like this. Anyway, in for a free post.

there is not a single import with a v8 worth a damn (excluding the gto, which doesn't really count anyways zate ) and there is no longer a single american car with a 4 or 6 cylinder motor worth a damn (i like mine, but being out of production kinda nixes that) which is why i think chrysler is finally doing the right damn thing by stuffing hemis into every product they make. hell i think the soda machines in their production plants are hemi-powered. it's a shame it took being bought out by a german company to get back to their roots. ford i think will have a better year now that their flagship shitbox company car has some appeal to it rather than looking like the last hungover beer shit i took... the mustang is huge, and the new camaros and challengers are going to hopefully wake up the big 3 to the fact that the only way they can get back their market share is by building truly american cars, with big engines, lots of torque, and that whole muscle thing.

that will never happen because the appeal towards those new domestics is low.....just look at these forums for an example when the new camaro pictures were posted the majority agreed that it will never make the same kind of money as the old ones

yeah, because random people on the internet are always right about everything... not to sound like an asshole, but the majority of the people on this forum aren't economists, or executives of large auto firms.

and to reiterate what i said earlier, these cars are what's going to help recapture SOME lost ground, things will never go back to the way they were in the late 60's and early 70's where american cars were selling like 308 to 1 vs. imports.

Well that's not really Ford, GM, or Chryslers fault, you can blame that one on the government. All the friggin tree huggin libs in political positions put a damper on most of those cars you see in Europe, Australlia and other places, cause they all start cryin sayin oh they're emitting to much emissions and they're polluting the air. But the kicker is that those same people complain about the cars they have so heavily restricted have no power , they need to make up their minds you can't have both, it takes breathing room for an engine to make power, also there is so much money wasted on emissions testing it's ridiculous. If you cut emission standards there goes some of your problem right there cause it drastically reduces the cost of making vehicles. Don't get me wrong now, I'm not saying have no emission standards just don't make it so strict. It's little things like that though is why imports have begin to make such a big jump on American cars, imports are not as heavily monitered on the engine productions like domestics, so they can produce semi-powerful fuel efficent cars. I don't know about you but if I could buy a domestic brand car for less money and it have better fuel economy and more power I'd be willing to bet everyone would jump on board. That's just one thing that needs to be changed, there are many others which all corolate hand in hand with each other, less money spent on stupid emission testing means more money to dedicate for fit and finish of the automobile, see what I'm sayin.

the saturn sky/pontiac solstice are rebadged and face-lifted opels

the caddillac cts was made in germany, gto in australia, the list goes on and on

kinda sucks that they have to do stuff outside of the country to do it right, but atleast the company is American
