Default President Hillary wants to kick your butt!/Car and Driver Magazine

P. 35: "55 mile speed limit really does lower gas usage. and wherever it can be required, and the people will accept it, we ought to do it."

Read between the lines, folks!

and remember that; when it comes time to vote in September and November. -Bob

the 55 mph speed limit lowers consumption, but it will take me longer to get to my destination and therefore my car will be on longer and ill still burn the same amount of gas getting somewhere

fuck you hillary

I started going 55-60 mph last night on the franklin, because i knew that i would use a few drop less fuel than if i went faster.

Rpms affect mileage more than speed/ make it so your tranny will do 80mph while ypur motor is at 2k rpms and you'll se your mileage soar. on the contrary do 8k rpms while cruising 60mph and see how shitty it gets. what we need is a "cruising gear that has little Tq but handles the rpms as stated above.

Yeah. 55 saves gas, not because everybody was driving 55 but because it was too fucking slow to get anywhere so more folks flew.

Any true car guy knows that gearing has everything to do with it, not speed.

I'm turning 1750rpm at 80mph in 6th. At 50mph I'm just a hair over idle. Everything runs cooler and extends engine life ten-fold. I laugh at these guys cruising at 4K. I guess they always want to be "at the ready" in case some action happens.

At 80 mph I'm geared at 4K. But I'm not there to be ready, I'm there because that's how Toyota geared the car..haha.
