unless i'm wrong, but 2.5" less metal, wouldn't you put the power down easier and more efficiently, losing, and gaining back traction quicker?

maybe its just me, what do i know, i drive a Honda
ronald is incorrect, you want traction in the rear in drifting as well as the front. the whole stretched tires on drift cars (atleast stretched tires in the rear) helps make traction break away smoother, hard to explain, but with stretched tires you eliminate all if not most sidewall flex, so say you have some pretty wide rims, but you can only find say 60 or 65 series sidewall crap behind tire kingdom...find some narrow ones and stretch em on your wider rims, less sidewall flex than if it were on a correct size rim as well as no more sidewall roll over.

Yeah, and I got kids now, I hope 30 years later they upgraded the axles on hot wheels to Strange 33 spline or Moser or something...

I didn't mean it gives you less grip or anything, I just couldn't think of how to correctly put it into words.

But you did that for me.

Stretched tires are cool, wide wheels are cool, camber is cool. If you don't think so, I don't care.

Seems like some people agree with me: Most extreme tire stretch thread.
