Default Books about How to Race

Hi!

I have searched many forums but very little are there about racing theory.

So guys, help me out and suggest some good books or websites about rallying and racing?

I`m interested in theory of driving fast - balance, racing line, surfaces, techniques etc.

So book has to give me information HOW to drive, not WHAT is rally. I know what is rally and i have competed on some events including 2 rallies with my standard CRX but I want to get better and maybe there are some wrong techniques in my driving.

Waiting for good answers then! Thanks!

Seat time with an instructor is the best way to go faster, but this book is damn good.

Going Faster! Mastering the Art of Race Driving — The Skip Barber Racing School.

seat of the ass driving and lap times..

Slow in and fast out ... Knowing what your car can handle and everything...

You just need to slap a fresh set of tires on your car and get out there and drive the rubber off.. Then do it all again.

Then you will be good

Also, purchase a shifter kart if you really want to learn how to drive.

Seriously... F1 drivers train in these things...

Yeah I credit most of my driving to growing up in shifter karts.

Expensive hobby though.

Thanks for all aswers, yes "Going Faster!" seems to be good book, it is nr1 in my list to buy one now! Also I will check the wikiHow webpage.

Buying a kart was in my mind a few months ago but i didn`t had the money then but will get it on next summer i really hope!!

Yes, rally drivers also say that just DRIVE, DRIve, drive but racing is not cheap sport and i think it is better to learn the theory also. I have some friends who race but they are not professionals and sometimes a good driver might not be good teacher.

Ok thanks again and if someone has more books, just tell me

I'm going to be in trouble for not having this yet:

Going Faster! Mastering the Art of Race Driving — The Skip Barber Racing School.

My friend highly recommended it to me.

There is a local rally cross event here in the Tampa area on the 22nd of December. Non rally prepped cars can enter. Check it out here:

I see people out there spending money on the car to improve it … If you spend half that effort just working on your driving skills, making you and the car work together as a team, then you’ll go faster – period. To make the car go a second faster on the track takes a lot more energy and money than making yourself drive it one second faster.
