ATTN: Joe Dono AKA SCP_Celica SCAMMER
Importguy and Zate...
We (TR) seriously need to buy this car. We have so many active members between TR and TF, that it shouldn't be a problem.
Rather than "bash" the car, as we all would like to see done, we need to Raffle or Auction it off, and all proceeds goto a Charity, like our Cars 4 Cancer shows in the past.
We could use it for positive PR. Which news outlet wouldn't want to cover a story about a scammer loosing his ride.
Seriously...think about it and PM if you think we can do it.
EDIT: 700 people viewing this thread.
Thanks
Charles

and i have a charity in mind if we did that.. i raise money with my wife every year for the American heart association, specifically for research into heart defects in children. Our youngest was born with 5 heart defects so its something we get involved in every year.

I just posted a link at pro-touring.com, I think they'll enjoy this.
In terms of getting title to the car, your best bet is probably to give his mom a call and see if she's interested in signing over the title to you.
That way, you avoid any further hassle, and she avoids:
having a lien placed against a car that she owns,
being dragged into court with her son,
the costs of hiring an attorney to deal with all of this,
any possible damage all of the above might do to her credit rating.
It sounds like she's a pretty decent person, and odds are, she's a little overwhelmed at the moment, so if you can get her to sign over the vehicle and make all the problems go away, she might go along with that.
Of course, if there's outstanding financing on the vehicle, that adds another layer of negotiation, but starting by offering to make it all go away if she hands over the car might be a reasonable and inexpensive approach.
Good Luck!

We create a Sig Banner that lists the funds collected to date, so users can add it to there sigs, and watch it grow. Call it the Joe Dono Fund or something.
Find a worthwhile Charity (hell let every member that donates vote), and make sure it's a big PR event. Ebay it or whatever. Even if it sells at ebay for less than we bought it for, I don't think anybody would care.
Win-Win
Charles

But she will still be stuck with the amount owed on the car itself. I don't think they'd give it up so easily. Especially paying for a car that they won't own anymore.

The mother can't sign awat anything that she doesn't own. The bank owns her car, as of now that is.
