Car Manufacturing Questions
Car Manufacturing Questions
I was always under the assumption(thought I heard it somewhere) that cars for example like Honda produces models in Japan and Europe are not really the same cars the produce here, whether slight differences or certain models not being offered.
Lets take Toyota for instance. Aren't models such as the Camry and Corolla all made in America/North America(or atleast assembled here). I know that Lambhorghinis and Mercedes, and other companies import cars here. But you don't have Camry's that are assembled in Japan and US here do you?

S13 240sx in the US
are 180sx in Germany
S14 and S14a 240sx in the US,
are S14 and S14a 200sx in Germany (came with the SR20DET)
a 200sx in the US is basicly a Sentra Coupe
The German E36 M3 with the 3.0 and 3.2 liter engine has single throttle body, fan-type exhaust pipe and limited top speed of 155 mph.
3.0 has 286 bhp
3.2 has 321 bhp
there is also the only 350 times build M3 GT, which has a 3.0 engine with almost 300 bhp
US E36 M3 has no single throttle body, no fan-type exhaust and both engine versions are limited to 137 and 139 mph.
both have 240 bhp
German E46 M3 comes with drilled and vented rotors, US E46 M3 only has vented rotors.
German M3 has 343 bhp
US M3 has 333 bhp
German M3 headlights are made of glass, not of plastic like at the US M3.
In Germany we only have one version of the Honda Integra.
It's only available as the Type-R
There never was another model available.
German NSX is a Honda.....in the US it's an Acura.
Alot of japanese cars are called different, like for example the Nissan Pulsar/Bluebird/Sentra.
In Europe it's called a Nissan Almera.
The car I drive is available as 316i, 318ti and 323ti in Germany.
In the US it's only available as the 318ti Compact.
The one I drive is the latest year model, with the top level trim and the inline 6 engine.

Most mid 90's and earlier jap cars were made in japan. Now alot of them are made here. Toyota has a plant in kentucky and subaru has one some where up north as well. I think Nissan has one as well.
Thanks guys!

it also goes w/ ford too, but this is TR so know one listens to things about ford over their loud ass exhuasts, but saying anyways
The ford fiesta is a pos over here but in euro its a well built car, along w/ the focus rs
generally (in my opinion) we have the lower end on manufacturing cars here in the states

Focus' in europe are pretty good.
with the ST model you also have a good base, and there's the new RS that will be available soon.
they get assembled in Cologne.
where did yours come from? because the Focus also gets assembled somewhere in East Europe as fas as I know.
to that lower end manufacturing car thing, the S14a for example in germany always have leather seats, also did the Supras and the FD RX7.....there were no extras because they always were fully loaded.
you only could choose between the rims, color and gearbox.
The S14a was also build as a special model, the Z-Edition, 200 were build.
100 in black
100 in red
but cars like the MkIV Supra or RX7 are more like an exotic, because you barely see them here on the roads.
