Nothing factory in the $20-40K range traps higher than the domestic V8's .. that I am aware of anyhow.

anyone think of a stock non v8 domestic car in the $20-40K range that traps 110?

Trap speed is generally a reasonable indication of "speed".

Asking that question is kind of retarded. Of course there isn't any non v8 cars that will be that fast for the price range you posted. It takes power to be fast, or you can compensate for the "power" with less weight, but only so much.

If you're gonna talk about spending more than $40K, or any serious chunk of change on a car, I think you are a fool to buy new.

For that kind of money you could buy a very nice used super car instead of having to buy some new middling car.

I could never imagine throwing away several thousand dollars as you drive off a lot just for the privaledge of being your car's first owner and the strong new car smell.

Stock for stock I don't think it takes a $200k+ car to beat an S2000. You guys and your silly hp/liter. The few times I drove an s2000 it was fun though.

Yeah I'd probably never buy a brand new car either. But there are a few that I would consider.

This forum needs a sarcasm smiley . I personally think HP/L is the stupidest arguement in the world. But some people pride themselves by it.

It's one thing to be able to purchase car that once cost 60+k, but that's completely different from being able to own (repair and maintain) one. Sure you could purchase a used 911 for what you would spend on a new mustang, but what if it needs a new clutch?

Personally, I'd buy a used C5 Z06/03-04 Cobra over alot of the new cars out.

Shit the C5's are dirt cheap. And if I were going to do heads/cam I wouldn't even bother with a z06. Can't go wrong with anything lsx powered though. Hell the GTO's arent a bad deal anymore either.
