New school domestics vs. imports.....
My cousin owned an auto shop and we had everything from Bmw, Saab, Cadillac, Dodge, volvo, Ford, Mazda, etc.. etc.. You name it we had it. We never had any high end shit like A bently or Rolls Royce.... I've worked on my fare share of vehicles.

I'm in no way trying say you haven't been around cars, but when you are at a specialty shop that specializes in certain makes you tend to see different problems than a shop that sees a lot of different makes.

Hardtop s2000........ragtop civic wagon.......sounds good to me
Example: If you work at a Cadillac shop and you do nothing but work on them you will know the nuts and bolts better then John Smiths auto shop down the street that handles every make and model.... But when you deal with a used car no matter what the car is, you will always run into problems. Used cars come with problems. It could be a Honda Civic and still have problems. Wear and tear. It could be a Toyota Camry and still have problems. I'm not doubting what you both or saying you guys don't know what your talking about. All I stated is if you purchase a used car don't expect it to be running like it's brand spanking new out of the box. It will have it's share of problems. Some minor some major.

But to add to it, when any domestic takes the beating like my import vehicles (2 Hondas, 2 Nissans and a Mitsubishi) I will drive it. Until that can happen (it probably won't ever happen, but you never know) I will stick to imports. I drove my 240 with no oil for like 4 months, then put only lucas in it, and ran it to the ground. The day I sold it as a shell, the new owner got in, turned the key and drove away. That's reliability, and that's something that no domestic has been able to provide me or anyone I know.

I've never had to sell any of my domestic cars as a "shell." They never became shitty enough to have to sell as such.

Don't see too many Starions, Stanzas, Legends, or Cressidas on the road anymore either. But I sure do see a lot of old, busted, abused, redneck chevy pickups, and former Crown Vic cop cars rolling around. Most of which probably have not been maintained in 10-15 years.

Id say an evo, sti, mazdaspeed 3 or 6 (prefer the AWD 6) or some lexus offerings are going to be about the fastest things coming out of japan at the moment. As for germany, Im not sure what you could get a 1 series for but I saw two of them at BMP runs 11's and a low 12 on drag radials. Not stock of course.

Who cares about going fast or taking turns? How many people that are arguing in this thread actually do any of these, excluding the few such as bitemark and the German guy?
"Mi Honda es demasiado rápido para las palabras, Dios mío, los caballos de fuerza por litro sólo hace que el significado de estos golpes se convierte en la Florida tan fácil!" - Random Ricer
"My Ferd can run 12's from that there factory at bee em pay." - Random Ford Redneck
"God damn son bitch you ever rode in this here camarrow?! Made me slap my momma!" - Random Chevy Redneck
Mein Auto ist so gut, abwechselnd und jedes andere Land und Marke sucks! - German Douchebag
I swear, TR finds the dumbest stuff to argue about.
I've owned several domestics, both Ford and GM, a couple imports, Toyota, Mitsubishi, and Honda, and now a European car, VW. They all had their ins and outs. People on this site are just too close-minded or ignorant to realize that. People wanna swing on their own cars, not on yours, so why argue the point? Oh yeah because everyone on here knows everything there is to know.
Most 'car enthusiasts' will end up leaving the car modification scene sooner rather than later anyways, they just got an itch in their ass because they saw a couple movies and modded cars rolling around the area.
Oh and if you care enough to get butt hurt at my post just go cry in your room or talk shit to your friends, I really could care less about YOUR opinion over mine.

Do some research, compare the numbers, drive the ones you are interested in and decide what YOU like, not what a bunch of random anonymous people like on this forum.
