Car show this past weekend
God I love TR, Whenever I'm feeling a bit shitty. I can log on and I know that somewhere among all the clutter I will find a post that makes me feel just a lil bit better.
So I give Kudo's to you sir for bringing forth a thread that has had me literally laugh out loud.
BTW......I remember about ten maybe twelve years ago, Pepboy's on tyrone blvd had a monthly car show and there would be a parking lot full of car's just like this. Oh how I enjoyed looking at the mass amount's of Krylon coated parts.

I am inclined to wonder...where do these cars and shows come from? Every once in a while, you can stumble across a car show like this one, or the one up in Virginia (I think...) from a few months back that made its rounds on the internet, and there are still hundreds of cars that seem to be stuck in 2001. Where are these shows advertised? Where do these owners congregate and exchange ideas? Is there a TampaRicing.com?

EDIT: there are currently 7200 Pontiac Grand Prix's on that site. There you have it!

A General Principle of Life......
I suspect car shows are about having/entering a car that is pleasing to the judges, based on what that particular car show's standards are.
There are different standards for Donks, Low riders, ricers, stockers, modifieds, etc. That is why car shows have different classes.
Within each class is what the judges believe to be pleasing to that particular class.
I suspect that for people who enter car show competitions, it is about the "thrill of victory", so to speak. For people who have never experienced the thrill of victory, it is difficult to explain to them what it's about.
A General Principle of Life......
For smart people, when they don't understand something, they educate themselves. For other people, they choose to ridicule or laugh at what they don't understand.
Examples available on request.
Folks, people need some sort of passion in their lives. If there is nothing in life that a person cares strongly about, they need to find another life.-Bob

''Seriously enters car shows"
Who the fuck gives 2 shits about a car show? The only people that care about car shows are idiots that are so shallow they put shiny bullshit on their car so other idiots will compliment them so then they feel good about themselves and are able to sleep that night. This thread is a fucking joke.

Judges look for a car that stands out, and frankly, that's not always a good thing. Painting everything a contrasting color to make it an obnoxious eyesore isn't something that's above our comprehension, we just call it like we see it, which is an obnoxious eyesore, not, "custom" or "unique" or "heavily modded."
