Default MPG discussion.

I know theres a green forum or some shit but im sure no one ever posts in there. So i post the question to all you wise comsumers... if you absolutely had to switch your regular gas car into something a little more economical would you switch into one of the faggish hybrids or dive into the TDI (diesel fuel) world?

As far as cars performance but also looks, how they drive, how spacious, what would be your choice?

Id probably go with a brand new jetta tdi

I would probably go either the BMW Diesel route or the Mercedes Route. Although the new TDI Jettas aren't bad.

working with them on a daily basis i wasnt a fan... but seeing the new body style ... just needs a little drop and some wheels and it could work.. 50+mpg aint bad either

I just cant deal with a car that feels useless. Like the prius or the civic hybrid they just feel like they arent going anywhere.

The sedan btw not the wagon lmao...

did you not read the OP or is your car just so amazing you had to disregard the topic/question and post anyway?

^ heard ok things about them .... havent ridden in any yet. Im just not a big fan of the hybrids... i drove a v6 accord hybrid which was decent for a hybrid... but as far as the civic, prius & camrys they just feel like golf karts.

That's because most of the hybrids get made with lightweight material. That's why they feel cheap as hell. It's mostly plastic anyway. Ever see a prius after an accident? They get absolutely annihilated.

At least the VWs are still full size and don't crumble like a wet paper bag.

America is full of dumbasses who haven't caught on to the superiority of diesel engines.

A tdi version of the 2012 beetle would'nt be to bad for the wife. I'd take a tdi jetta any day over a hybrid. All i can remember is working for honda when the civic hybrid first came out and trying to spin the tires in the rain was a fail... That turned me away from hybrids even though I know they've come a long way since then.
