Dude this is simple math.. ACR is 2600 lbs...

it has 150 HP and 135 TQ.. Stock

CAI adds maybe 5 to 8 hp
Pulleys add maybe 5 to 10 HP

it added 18 HP and 15 LBs

So now you have maybe 170 hp and maybe 150 TQ..

It takes roughly 20 HP to make up for 1 tenth of a second in the quarter mile. I don't see a 14.90 second car here.. I see a 15.2 second car at best...

What ACR do you know that weighs 2600 lbs?!?!? Thats about 300 lbs over what they really are. How do I know? Because ive helped push one onto the SCCA scales before.

And im sorry, but your friend running mid 15s with Nitrous on ACR cant drive, or his engine is fubar'd. ACRs will run mid 15s STOCK. Please get YOUR info correct. Watch how fast a stock ACR comes off the line at a ProSolo. You cant tell me that adding 50 is only going to make that car run in the mid 15s.

If you took the time to ACTUALLY READ, you'd see that the car ran "in the 13 second range" with only the CAI, UD pulleys, and slicks. The picture of the motor with ITBs and such was AFTER he built the car to do 11s.

The new SRT is missing one important thing.....a LSD to put down the power it has.

95-99 Dodge Neon ACR = DS, DOHC = 150@6500, 133@5600, 2420 lbs, .062 hp/lb, .055 ft/lb, 14x6 rims, 225 tires, up to -3 deg camber. Well tested and setup with revalved Koni's.

still not 300 lbs less than 2600.. Try maybe 180 lbs less for a 1st gen ACR. But this thread is all about the newer ACR.... bottom line is its a 2600 lbs car...

Where does this thread say a thing about the 2001 ACR? I see talk of the new SRT neon...but nothing about the ACR.

Youre right, we should ignore personal expirience and go by websites, because if its in print, it CANT be wrong.

I stand corrected

NO ACR has been or is about to be turbo'd from the factory for production. The SRT that weighs ~2970 is what ran the 14.2@99 and is the ONLY turbocharged version.
