When you buy a car, where do you start when it comes to tuning it? In other words, to you, what's the most important part of your car's performance?

Tires is the most important for me. Only part of the vehicle that makes contact with the ground so a good place to start imo. Brakes is a close second if you're not going for straight lines.

How about nothing? Other than going to 17" wheels on my car (stock ones from another model) I don't do much tuning. All of those mods would be fine if you actually have place to use them. What's the point of spending 3-5k on suspension when your car will only be stuck on public road, sure some people take their cars on autox but 99% of the modified ones are never going to see any action.

I was always going for a 1/4 mile car but now my latest car is being set up for turns.

Depends on my plans for the car, and the car I've chosen. But, I'd say somewhere around tires/suspension or engine. Never been much for exterior/interior mods unless they served a functional purpose first, looks second.

Current car is going to be left as close to stock as I can keep it while still enjoying it...

suspension - you get looks, and performance gains. Then the engine work, or driveline if needed. After that brakes, factory brakes are usually perfect for daily driving no matter what kind of power you make. Unless you are doing track days..
