Its about as worthless as 2 tits on a bull on that engine & car. That car is not a race car nor will it ever be. Get your rims and a system and whatever and be happy. Btw the correct spelling is does not dose.

Goddamn... you could just say that you can't do much.

Here's a site that has links to all sorts of Monte Carlo sites: http://www.darklair.com/monte/index.html

Sorry I can't help more, but that should be a decent head start.

Ok, now do some research and find out how many thousands of dollars were spent on that car to mod it. :o Just not feasible. Unfortunately, like most of GMs cars, they have decided that underpowered fwd cars are their future. Yes, 87IROC's comment were a bit harsh, but a simple internet search would result in plenty of options as well.

The Monte comes with a L36 engine 200HP
They swapped in a L67 which will be comming in them stock next year, the differences between a L36 and L67, L67 has a Eaton M90 bolted on top, a HD version of the same tranny, slightly different heads, and lower compression. Thats about it They look damn near Identical.....
Now the mods available for the L67 Have more then doubled since that Monte Carlo was built. There is a newer more efficient Intercooler, Better Rockers, stage 2 heads from one company Stage 4 from another, they got nice Cam's available that add 50Hp, companys are expiramenting with LS1 Throttle Bodys for em. Even better trannys are available with bulletproof input shafts, LSD's, 2.93, 3.29, 3.69gears are all available, PCM (computer) Recalibrations available take off speed limiters and raies RPM limiters. Not to mention swapping the pulley on the M90 to increase boost. some of the more radical are port and polishing the M90 or even swapping MP112 Superchargers (thats right the same S/C put on the Lightning and New 03' Cobra) While others are making kits for a Novi 2000 S/C .... Throw on one of the 2 soon to be available more efficient Intercoolers on those and see what they run!!!

Late model (97+) Grand Prix's are hitting 11's with the L67 and they still have a M90 No N02 and full interior,
There is even a Bonneville SSEI (also comes stock with L67) That ran a 12.1 with full interior and no N02, That thing weights like 3800lbs stock, without driver.

Like I said the L67 should be stock on the Monte Very Soon its the same W-body that the GP,Regal,Bonne, All have and they all offer the L67 as an engine option.

I dunno how much reasearch you think I need to do? (I wrote this off the top of my head ) But if you dont believe me about anything I have stated above then please let me know and I will be happy to provide you with links quotes anything you would like.

Oh almost forgot to mention...Since that Monte was built....The L36 now has a Novi 1000 S/C kit available for it.

And Im pretty sure its keeping a V6 in 2004, With the loss of the TA and Camaro.... Id keep a look out for those Underpowered FWD cars Cuz pretty soon there gonna be getting a lot faster

Where did you come up with that?

As far as I know, they're sticking with RWD for their muscle cars (GTO and 5th gen F-body)
