1972 Chevelle Malibu W.I.P.
Ok guys i need some serious help here. So i bolted my new 350 and tranny together and went to bolt the torque converter to the flex plate. There is a nice 1 inch gap between the converter and flexplate and before anyone asks yes im using the right flex plate and yes its in the right way. any suggestions?
ok after much research i found out the the newer 350 blocks require a crank pilot spacer to be able to mate up to an original th350 and torque converter because the neck on the torque converter is too short to mate up to the crank hole in the back of the engine "sorry for poor explination" so basically i have to get a spacer to bring my flex plate out about an inch and then im golden good thing is the part is cheap like 3 bucks from jegs.
man i swear i just run into one problem after another so now i got the tranny and engine together got the torque converter bolted in everythings mounted but now i have to install a new electric fuel pump because even though the block is bosed with the opening for a mechanical pump the pushrod wont go into the block. come to find out the genius that designed this motor put the boss there but didnt allow for the plumbing. oh well i purchased a new holley red electric fuel pump and have started installing it hopefully i should have it up and running within the next week and have pics and possibly a vid up. WISH ME LUCK!
