1972 Chevelle Malibu W.I.P.
As you all may know by my recent posts I just purchased a 1972 Chevelle Malibu 4 door. This is gonna be my new work in progress thread. So anyone can start seeing her as she comes together and also be able to throw in their input "please keep comments positive and leave the negative to the honda forums". I purchased this car as a running project for 1000 bucks from a guy in dunedin who didnt know what he was sitting on. Car has a 307 v8 with a TH350 transmission. Everything is original and the block has matching numbers. I'm building this one up because I never see 4 door chevelles around. But some of my plans are to drop a 350 in it, convert the interior to black and start the body resto. So far I've purchased a fresh rebuilt 350 motor from a 82 camaro with a 4 bolt main. Just need a few odds and ends before dropping the new motor in " dizzy, fuel pump, starter, etc.". Will post pics tomorrow as how she sits now. And keep checking the thread as I continue the resto I will add more pics and info.
1982 Camaro's didnt come with a 350... So you may have been swindled into buying a 305 or it could have been swapped into the 82. Wasnt till 87 that the 350 was offered as an option in 3rd Gens...
Post the block and head casting number or if you know if the motor is pre 86 or post 87 will be able to find out if you can use your stock fuel pump and starter. Your 307 dizzy should also work in that motor as well.

A search reveils this...
350...95-00...2 or 4 Bolt Main...Vortec truck, Gen.I crate motors and "ZZ4", roller cam, one piece rear seal
So your flex plate and stater will not work with this motor and its closed casting for the fuel pump provision on the front of the block so that wont work either.

Hmm its been my understanding for years that most 87+ blocks are not bossed for the fuel pump provisions by that time all the vehicles were fuel injected. I would especially assume that on a 95-00 block but I guess I have to be wrong sometime
