Honda plans to take on Toyota prius with a Honda prius
nope but your certainly not the type of car owner they are looking to sell too. Your what they'd call a fringe comsumer, they dont care what you think of it.
In that kind of car, you have competing requirements. you need it to be streamlined, you also need it to have space inside for 4 full size adults, you need the performance to be decent, but at the same time fuel efficient.. so many factors combine and i am sure that making it look hot is down the list quite a bit... sure if you sacrifice room inside, or FE you can make it into a hot looking car.. and the Volt is doing that.. but you have to make sacrifices... and Toyota/Honda are doing that.. the car isnt "Ugly", its just not RX-7 type hot.. its certainly not a Yugo and from inside driving it, and when you go to the gas pump half as much, no one cares what it looks like... its about function.

Probably because the Prius is so hot right now. what would be hotter than a Prius?.. a Prius with a Honda badge on it... lol

i couldnt care less how ugly it is.. lol..
i drive 1000 miles a month... just to and from work.
@ 20 MPG on premium (lets say $4.20) that is $210 a month
@ 35 MPG on regular (lets say $3.90) that is $111 a month
@ 60 MPG on regular (lets say $3.90) that is $65
For the difference in $210 to $65 who gives a fuck how fast or what it looks like? If I want a hot fast car I'll build one.
Even with the civic i am halving my gas bill, lowering my insurance and lowering my payment.
there comes a time when you gotta look at what you use the car for, what your life priorities are and take charge of it.
Hell the mustang I had got 9 MPG (heavy foot and 4.30 gears), that would be $466 a month in gas.
ugly or not, cars like the prius, civic, yaris, corolla etc etc kick the shit out of driving a 20-25 MPG performance car to work in stop and go traffic every day.
I am a firm believer that if I want a go fast car, I'll build one for the track, but for 99.9% of my driving, I'll take 35+ MPG any day... anything else is just pissing money away for no reason... and with our current economy doing that is just retarded.

Function > Form.
The exterior design of the Prius isn't just for looks, it's mostly for function. The Prius has a .26 drag coefficient. The 08 GT-R has a DC of .27 and the new Corvette Z06 a .28
What does that mean? The 'fugly' Prius cuts through air more efficiently than those "mad tyte yo" fanboy cars. This helps it be as fuel efficient as it is.
Those of you that can't see past it being "fugly" or "gay" are just showing how ignorant you are. Bet you guys are pretty bummed about NOPI cancelling all their phat car showz, huh?
