Honda plans to take on Toyota prius with a Honda prius
Priorities is the key word. My priorities are to enjoy my car and not let gas prices change my way of life. You have a family, I consider myself a "kid" where cars, video games, and hot girls still drive me.
I might change the way I drive because of gas prices, but im not going to change what I drive.

No one is asking you to change what you drive. Will I ever own a Prius? Probably not. Do I want a Tesla Roadster of Fisker Karma? Fuck yes.
We're just trying to convey that these cars are not about looking good or cutting a 12 second 1/4 time. They're about advancing our Hybrid/EV/Plug-in vehicle technology and fighting our dependency on crude oil for our vehicle fuel.
I swear they just released this car, the FCX Clarity. They look very similar.

Edit:
High gas prices. Concern for the environment. There are a lot of reasons to consider driving a hybrid vehicle. Now there’s one more: economics. Honda is proud to introduce yet another hybrid milestone: an affordable hybrid for the real world.
Honda's hybrid of the future benefits from a solid history of hybrid know-how. Honda announced the very first mass production hybrid model for the U.S. and Europe in 1999, and hybrid versions of the popular Civic and Accord models quickly followed. Our newest hybrid is a futuristic five-door hatchback that sports a unique style and sleek design. It is powered by a new lighter weight and efficient Integrated Motor Assist IMA® Hybrid system that offers a spirited ride, with plenty of amenities. And it’s all within your reach, starting in early 2009.
Welcome to the next era of transportation.

So I test drove a prius back in april. Quietest car I've ever been in, and i managed to get the gauge to read 99.9 mpg. Their halfway decent at making it to 60 mph. I think it was at like 9 or 8 second IIRC, which is pretty fast compared to alot of other econo-boxes.

how do you figure that?
the only way the prius is better is because its not a two seater. the insight was better in every other measurement. higher mpg, lower cd, lighter...
if the insight was sold today, im sure it would be selling at the same volumes as the prius.
im sure it looks like a prius in those pics because its made to, as a part of its mask. i doubt it looks like it when its rolled out.
All I know is that I currently drive 124 miles 5 days a week in my v6 S-10 averaging about 22-23mpg which equals $440 every 4 weeks. (Not counting any weekend travel). I am doing some serious hybrid/economy car shopping. I still like the little Smart car so far, but I also really like the civic hybrid that I test drove. The Prius is in too much demand to be affordable right now.

i didnt like the Smart at all, drove weird and I felt like I could be killed at any time or that a big gust of wind might knock me over..
Loren on the forums here is getting 40+ MPG out of his Yaris, i am looking to get close to 40 with my civic this tank, corolla's regularly get over 40 and the Hybrids over 60. Any of them will more than halve your gas bill.
