if you're just putting in new bolts, ya dont have to do anything like that, but if you're putting in a new girdle, then it has to be line bored with the block so they match. the bottom main caps are part of the girdle, so that's why they have to machined to match the mains in the block.

no, his girdle just sits on top of the main caps. I have heard you need to get the mains align bored any time you add arp main studs. ARP suggests it on there touque spec sheet that comes with the studs. I costs a good amount of $$$$. I would spend the $$$ on an external oil pump and forget about spinning bearings. the external pump will produce more flow and higher pressures than any honda pump, almost eliminating spun bearings. I have heard too many mixed feelings when it comes to girdles.

Is this a on top of getting the arp main studs? External oil pump? What I have is the GE Main Girdle set. Comes with the arp mains.

Its taking sooooooo much money to do this. But I can't give up now cause Iam almost done with the block. I spent about 2400 on the block and its not even assembled yet.

torque the crank down, plastigauge the bearings, and if it spins freely by hand and all the clearances are within spec youre good to go...if not i guess its time for a line bore
