when you say stock bottom end do you mean pistons as well? due to small valve reliefs in the ls pistons running typeR cams and a vtec head cut 40 thou. you may be tight on your piston - valve clearence. just a heads up.

Yeah I was going to mention the piston to valve stuff also. I'd pull the head off and clay check it if you didn't originally. I know of a couple of people who tapped valves with that same setup and the head wasn't milled.

all stock no tapping and i have revved over 8000 already"the bottom end was not torn apart-no break in" thanks for the input though!

when you mill the head it causes your cam timming to retard . im guessing that is what is saving your valves. if you tune your car and advance the cams it will become an issue.

thanks na200whp i want to change the pistons in the future but for know i have to much invested ,how much cam timing would i have to do with the s/c you think????

i would leave it if it is running fine. the only real way to be sure how much you can adjust is by pulling the head and claying it.
