Mini Me question
Mini Me question
what is the ideal head/block combination for a mini-me swap? i heard its better than a z6 swap because of the compression, is this true? is this a better choice than a d15b swap?

dont really know to much about d-series, BUT, the ideal set-up will always be the d-series motor that has the largest liter bottom end to match the best flowing v-tec cylinder head (probably the ex civic cylinder head). for example: on a b-series, the best combo would be a b20 bottom end in conjuction w/a b-16 head. good luck my man.

the largest d is the d17, but ide just go with a d16y7 with a y8 head. should be really cheap and also have some get-up.

ok, i was reading on dseries.org and they had a "best head" thread (after i already posted) and everyone was saying get the a6 block because it pulls harder. other forum sites arent as..."smart" as people on TR. so i trust tr's opinion.

i'm running a d15b7 bottom end, with a z6 head. and of course i have a few other bolt on's(haha, i'm just gonna stick to the hood latch is broken if ya ask ). but the output is very good in my opinion. But the main prob i seem to be having, is trying to run the right ecu. Right now i'm running the d15 vtec ecu and it seems to be very sluggish in the low end. IDK, tunning is a pain in the arse!
