Hey John...
I wanted to ask you if the D16a motor will swap right into the 88 Crx Si. I know the tranny right now is a Cable Tranny and I believe the D16a is a hydrolic one. But someone told me that the motor drops right in like the ZC motor. You dont need all the parts to swap like you would with the B16a just the motor. And I think possibly the 89-91 tranny because the 88 Tranny has a different number of teeth on it? If so will this work? I want to get a motor swap done soon and for some reason I want FI. Im not looking to smoke everyones ass just something for the track and to occasionally street race. I was thinking about doing that motor and something inexpensive like the GReddy Street kit with Intercooler and running 7-8 Psi. Or should I just buckle down and stick with the B16a? I dont plan to build an all out race motor just something for fun. Also do you guys have any of the Civic motors around the shop or can you get one. If so can you email me a price on it? Thanks.
There are several d16a motors
d16a6 is the stock 88-91 civic/crx motor
d16a8/9 is the 88-91 zc motor
d16a1 88-89 integra motor does not bolt into 88-91 civics/crx.
d16z6 is the 92-95 sohc vtec motor it will bolt into 4gs if a 4g cable tranny is used.
