I was looking at the new Tanabe SS coilover set (about $1400) but was wondering how that would affect my class in the SCCA. I have never raced in SCCA but would like to try. Should I just buy springs?

I could be wrong but I dont think they hold it against you. Course Ive never really gotten involved in the whole SCCA thing but good luck with it!

 

Last time I checked full body coilovers would put in you in street prepared...but dont hinge on my words. I believe you can do springs and shocks in your class but not full coilovers. If that is the case you might take a look at Ground Control coilovers. They are not full coilovers but a slip over threaded sleeve like you see everybody makes. But Ground Control came up with that idea a long time ago and their products are used on some of the fastest cars in SCCA. Plus you can order custom spring rates (they use Eibach springs). Locally Automotive Engineering carries them. HTH
