/\ unless he did him timing wrong that maybe but misfire will cause check engine let at high rpm..i would change the plugs and wires and i bet it will fix the problem

 

brand new wires. The old ones were on so tight from the last person who touched them that they all broke when removing them. Unfortunately, Im running Zex plugs for my wires, so replacing them will take a few days waiting on shipping.

 

then just buy Ngk like everyone else but i would look into it as soon as you get the light to come on DONT turn the car off check the ecu and see the blinks

 

lol...ECU isnt blinking, thats the problem. Only the check engine light.

 

damn then maybe you low on brake fluid!!!might be a wireing issue then somewhere

obd0 ecu's aren't smart enough to pick up on miss-fires, it has no way of sensing it. Sounds like an electrical issue.

 

Ok, here's the latest. When I left work the check engine light didnt come on until I got out of traffic and went over 3500 rpms for the first time since starting the car. Threw another chip in for the hell of it which didnt work. Put mine back in, check engine light is now constant, ecu flashing for a TPS code. Clip on the back of the TPS is broken. So, we'll start there once I find another one. The wiring for the ecu is also a mess, so that's another problem. Thanks to everyone for throwing your ideas out there!!!
