Default Need help w/check engine light before I give up on my car

Basic:91 Crx w/b17 swap, still obd0 with my pr3 ecu from my old b16 swap. Everything was fine til my stage 1 cams went in last night. Car seems to be running fine but my check engine light is going on & off, with long flashes, the light on the ECU is NOT on or flashing. If Im driving under normal conditions, not getting on it in the least bit, it doesnt come on, but if I accelerate a bit like getting on the interstate this morning or downshifting to pass a car, it starts flashing. It reset this morning while I was stopped in traffic, but then started flashing again once I got going.

no, the red light on the ECU is NOT flashing at all which is why Im at a loss. Only the check engine light is flashing. I know the valves shouldve been adjusted. Someone suggested perhaps they are so far off that it may be effecting the knock sensor.

that could be it.. but it should still flash the codes on the ecu.. does your ecu light come on at all? when you turn the key?

check your voltage on your alt.you might be getting a code 20 that may make it flash that is a power surge..if not check o2sensor or even check the wireing around the enginebay

Been doing more searching and found a few threads on various sites (including HondaTech) that say a flashing check engine light can mean a cylinder misfire which is causing catalyst damage and it's not wise to drive the car....so needless to say I am now paranoid and freaking out.
