Default Suspension for a 1994 civic coupe

i don't really know a lot about suspension and wanted to lower my car, just a little not drastically.

i was thinking maybe 1.5 inches.

what would be a good set up? My friend told me KYB AGX's were good with a set of skunk 2 springs. but i have done my research on the shocks and they were a disappointment. I am not looking to spend over 500 all together but want something that will not wear out in a year.

any help would be appreciated.

maybe list what you set up is and how happy you are with it. Thanks TR

I have neuspeed sport springs and it rides pretty good. I think its on the stock shock bodies. I'm sure it could be a lot better but that would also mean digging into the wallet more.

if your lowering for the "look" then just slap some neuspeed sports on stock struts. its like a 1.5 front 1.6 rear.

1.75" front 1.5" rear. My car is lowered but doesnt look lowered, I like it. IDK about them being just for looks because my car sure as hell handles like its on rails. Probally a combo of the stut bars and tires too though.

you asked about my setup, everything is always updated and posted in my garage. Neuspeed sport springs, racactive strut bars, general tires, camber kit. Anytime you lower the center of gravity you should have better handling. Stiffen it up and you dont have as much body roll which is better handling if its done right. Strut bars I cant say whether or not they make a huge difference I havent tried the car without them but they stiffen the whole chassis. Wider better gripping tires always helps out too. EX tires I believe are wider factory at 185mm and my tires on it are 205mm so .79" wider.

I've got H&R Teg springs on stock shocks. The drop was SIGNIFICANT... and I loved it. Unfortunately the struts were blown from the previous owner, and I didn't even know until we took everything apart. Oddly enough, it still rode pretty well. I've had it that way for almost a year now... Now it's time to change it out. I ordered KYB gas shocks last week, and they're delivering tomorrow, I have Skunk2 springs being picked up tomorrow, and everything will be in on Sunday. From what I hear the Skunk2's are a lot stiffer than the H&R's. Just depends on what kind of ride you're looking for.

A lot of people have brought Skunk2's to me for installation.
They also can be fine tuned, as to height, for lowering just a little further
as needed.

1.5 is a good street lowering, and most of the time, only toe-in needs to be reset to prevent eaten tires.....skunk 2 has some good
engineers.

I also have a design on the board to save the shocks on a severely lowered car, but haven't got enough test time yet on my
own car...-Bob
