its a stuck lifter i had the same problem about 4 months ago with my rebuild but i pulled the head completely apart to find out

^^ Mine DOES sputter from time to time... I was planning on putting in a new fuel pump this weekend...I thought that might be the problem.

And now I'm getting a little confused. In the first post you said "tap" AND "knock" ... but they're different sounds. Which one is it? Tapping can be lifters which is common Hondas. Knocking can be tons of different things.

its a tapping sound from the head which i probably bend one of my valves, bc i over rev'd

so you over reved on crank that has already had a spun bearing and was not checked?i am guessing there will be more problems to this motor

im sure you did not bend a valve,you would drop a valve first from over reving the motor..other wise the car would pretty much be undriveable

plus wouldn't a bent valve have some other symptoms? Backfiring alot? Smoke?

no she doesnt backfire or smoke just tapping sound and no power at all

but the motor has never spun a bearing and idk what it takes to spin a bearing lol |
i have a tapping sound in my lsvtec setup as well, had valves adjusted and still doing it, i believe its the lma's or a stuck lifter or something in the head also. Need to make a video and post it to get some advice, couple people heard it and all say probably the rocker system. IDK?? B18-b bottom end and B17 vtec Head.
