just go buy a whole new linkage with good bushings and it might be loose if you dont have a bitch pin and someone half assed your car or if you did it yourself, you may have a nut and bolt where the bitch pin should be

bitch pin - the pin that you can't get out and your arms are wasted by the time you do
if your shift linkage was modified to be put in your car sounds like something is wrong. i have this with my CRX. even after the fix, I'm still not happy with the play in the shifter espc down the drag strip.

I see people out there spending money on the car to improve it … If you spend half that effort just working on your driving skills, making you and the car work together as a team, then you’ll go faster – period. To make the car go a second faster on the track takes a lot more energy and money than making yourself drive it one second faster.

eg 4 door, and um alright. i think i know which pin. i'll just try replacing the whole shift linkage, i can hit every gear just fine but my dad would like to be able to drive the car as well.
