21 july all import show/meet plant city 4pm-9pm

Remember last year? That was the first one.
This year it will be even greater.-Bob

In fact, if we can show them a humongous turnout, it will encourage the Chamber of Commerce to give imports their own show/meet more often.

But.......
We ourselves will determine our fate.
If we have a good turnout, we get another one.
I contacted a not-to-be-mentioned media outlet about this event and they said they would NOT mention an all import event in their upcoming events section. The reason? "Lack of interest"....LOL
I felt like asking: Lack of interest of participants, or lack of interest in publicising it? LOL

21 JULY...... ALL IMPORT SHOW/MEET PLANT CITY 3PM-9PM
All years. All Import Makes. All Models. Dash Plaques. DJ Music.
No registration fee. No trophies. No pressure. Clubs welcome.
Sponsored by the Plant City Chamber of Commerce. 3 huge parking lots.

We can start registering at 3PM at 109 N. Palmer Street.
Downtown Plant City, next to the train station is the registration tent. Food will be available.

Do you think they will let us sign in early?

I saw your Jurassic Park Truck. You had a prime parking spot.........In the diagonal parking, South side of the lot.....close to the restroom. You were nowhere in sight at the time, but your truck had a bunch of people looking at it. Pat yourself on the back. It was looking good.

I was way to the West about two blocks and parked on the street. LOL!

On July 21st for the All Import/All Years/All Models/All Makes show, I plan to be lined up over on Palmer where the registration is, and slightly before 3PM. A lot of import guys know about our getting the all import night and I expect it to be a busy time.

You say you plan to arrive around noon. Do you think they will let us sign in early?-Bob

one at 109 Palmer, East of the registration tent and beside the train station.

If you roll in together, you park together. Might be a good idea to arrive early
to get a good spot. If you want to bring somebody with you from down South,
that will be great.

Your Mitsu looks good. It doesn't matter what you drive. If you want to come out for a July 4th meet and greet, we will be glad to see you. Location will be Phillippe Park Clearwater for an afternoon meet. Fairly close to Palm Harbor. ....but.....

Our tentative plans are to avoid the crowds, light off the grill around 4PM, hang out, eat, talk cars, then set up for a cruise to watch some sunset fireworks. We may have a band or DJ at the fireworks spot so the times may be subject to change. ...but.....

But if you are moving here in another week,

groan....
We also have a big meet coming up 21 July/Plant City...check local events forum. We have plenty of car stuff to do around here.-Bob

The Chamber of Commerce in Plant City is sponsoring our all import meet. They will not cancel out. This is a train in motion. This meet will take place rain or shine, hell or high water, with or without any single individual ....so bring your friends.

The afternoon/evening meet will be from 3PM to 9PM, so we can beat some of the heat. Cops will block off parking lots for us at 3PM. NO fees to park for meet registrants. Be sure to tell them that you are showing your car. It would be a real good idea to arrive early.

Post this on to the forums that you belong to. We CAN run them out of FREE dash plaques one hour into registration. Bring somebody with you. Roll in together, park together. Tell everybody you know. Late arrivals will have to park with the hot rods.
When all the lots are full, cars have to wait in line until a space opens up.

The easiest way to Plant City is take I-4 to exit 19, 21, 22 and go South.

This Saturday, folks.
Enough people know about this that it might be a good idea to get there early.

Streets will be blocked off and the "drive-by" crowd won't be able to drive by and complain about attendance later. LOL -Bob

You might be right. Get there early to get one of the dash plaques. MiataMan in Miami asked me for directions....said he was bringing a few people.

This is what I sent him:
I'm glad you asked the directions question.
The North-South Interstates are I-75 and I-95.
Crossing East-West is I-4. I-4 runs from Daytona to Tampa.
Plant City is on the West end about 20 miles East of Tampa.
You might try mapquest to get an exact map to 109 Palmer Street Plant City.

Cops will block off the streets and parking lots for us so there will be no "drive-by"
complainers. Be sure to tell them that you are in the car show and all of you want to park together.-Bob

details of directions to Plant City All Import/All Years/All Makes car show/meet

Someone just new to Kissimmee called me today checking for directions from Kissimmee.
He said he wanted to bring his Toyota.
Yes folks, it really is ALL IMPORTS, Any Year, Any Brand.

His phone went dead before I could get all the directions out.
If you are new and coming from Kissimmee, Get onto Interstate 4 and drive west.
The first town you will see is going to be Lakeland. Plant City is about 10 miles to the west of Lakeland.
----------------------------------------------------------
Use exits 19, 21 and 22 and drive South on Thonotosassa, Alexander, Wheeler or Park Road.
Each of these streets touches Baker Street(US92) which runs East-West.

Baker Street is also called US92 and when Baker Street touches Palmer Street, drive 1/2 block South on Palmer. The lot will be blocked off for us.
Pull into the first parking lot on your left. Tell the cops that you are in the car show. The registration tent will be at 109 N. Palmer street, one block South of Baker.

To avoid traffic jams when it's time to leave, the quickest way back to Interstate 4 will be the same way that you came in.....so make a note how you got there.-Bob
