08 December 2012 Operation Helping Hand Charity Car Show-Bob

That is right. Operation Helping hand is looking for a helping hand. Howard Johnson Plaza, Vortex Motorsports, S&R Performance, Scores Gentlemen's Club have gotten together to raise money for this charity. EVERYTHING that comes in the door that day will go to the charity. No one profits but them. It is the love we show for our military!

Operation Helping Hand of Tampa (Op HH) , a project of the Tampa Chapter of Military Officers Association of America (MOAA), has been organized to help the families of the wounded and injured during their stay in Tampa Bay. Assistance from the public and business community is definitely needed to help these families.

Not only will this be a custom car show but there will also be a good old CAR SMASHING! That is right! Mat Buys Cars has donated a car for us to destroy with what else but SLEDGEHAMMERS! So stop on by 111 W Fortune St Tampa, FL whether you have a car or not and have some fun!

Registration is $15 the day of show and $10 before the show at the Howard Johnson Plaza. Classes are as follows: 1st-3rd for Import, Domestic, Truck/SUV, Classic, and Bike. !st for Best In Show, Club Participation, and Euro class.

UPDATE/08 December 2012 CANCELLED Sun Toyota Car Meet/toy drive

This is the date if things go as planned. Cancelled for now.-Bob
Mike will be our MC once again. Even though Sun Toyota sells Scions as well
as Toyotas, It will be open to all cars, trucks and motorcycles.

Sorry. Due to the overwhelming demand of our Toyotathon Sales Event we could
not fit the car show in our lineup this December. I am hoping to have this event soon.

Kenny Flint Featuring The Rough Diamond Band

KENNY FLINT FEATURING THE ROUGH DIAMOND BAND

Kenny Flint and The Rough Diamond Band are a Tampa based band playing oldies, country and southern rock. They have been performing for 25 years and recently opened shows for both Willie Nelson and Neal McCoy. They will perform for private and company events, large or small. We are excited to have them sharing their great music with us.

A COUPLE OF GREAT RACE CARS TO VIEW AT THE SHOW

GLEN LAUNEY- ALTERED DRAGSTER

This Racecar is called an Altered Dragster. It has 120” wheelbase and is a front engine machine. IT was built 25 years ago by a shop in South Florida, which has passed into oblivion. My car has a 355” small block Chevy of about 600 HP. It runs the ¼ mile in 8.80-9.00 seconds, depending on the temperature. It is a certified super comp car, but I only race et races(brackets) and usually only for fun. The car was track champion at Gainesville race track. The chassis is totally Chrome-moly with a ladder bar suspension in the rear and torsion bars like a sprint car in front. Glen uses his dragster to raise awareness and monies for a non-profit group called Treats for Troops, along with working with various military groups. Glen is available for car shows and patriotic events.

Kelsey Lay - Kelsey started out watching her father race at rapid speeds growing up. She has always had a competitive side to her, so she wanted to race go-karts. Now the rest is history. See Kelsey's Dragster now and live at the show on December 10, 2011.

The University of Tampa presents the 2nd annual toys for tots car show!

DRIVE UT and The University of Tampa presents the 2nd Annual Toys for Tots
Car Show. This year it is in a flat lot compared to last year in parking garage.
Below are the details the offcial flyer will be up soon. Thanks !

Location: Sykes College of Business Parking Lots
Date: December 9th, Gates open at 11:00 am for Vendors and Drive UT
12:00 pm for Everyone.
... Entrance Fee: Bring a NEW UNWRAPPED toy to be donated
The Marine Corps will be in attendance, COME OUT AND SHOW YOUR SUPPORT!

Awards: There will be the following trophies awarded,
Best in Show
Best All-American
Best Classic Car
Best European
Best Import
Best Club Showing
Best Show Bike
& 3 more classes will be announced before the show

We are still looking for sponsors to liven things up, if you would like to have a small booth

I wanted to invite your Club to bring their cars to the inaugural car show and food truck rally (there will be at least 8 different types of food trucks, ranging from stuffed burgers to BBQ to mac and cheese!!!) which is being held at the brand new multi million dollar campus of Manatee Technical Institute at 6305 St Rd 70 in Bradenton.

The December 9th show is an effort to help the school raise money for their automotive tech students and the Skills USA program ensuring that there will be another generation of car enthusiasts. Registration to show is $10. 100% of the money goes to the program and all the details are listed on the flyer. We hope that your club can make it and If you have any questions, feel free to call.

University Car Events LLC is proud to present the first annual 'Car meets @ USF Toys for Tots Car Show'. We hold some of the largest, regularly re-occurring and Most Secure automotive venues in Florida. There will be a Formula 1 Simulator as well as a Dyno. It doesn't get better than that!

ALMOST 150 CAR'S. 50/50 TO THE WINNER WAS $630.00.

THE DONATIONS WITH TOYS AND GIFT CARDS WERE $6,200.

THE LADIES FROM DOMESTIC VIOLENCE
SHELTER ,WERE THERE ABOUT 1:30 AND PICKED EVERYTHING UP AND BROUGHT BACK TO THE SAFE HOUSE..

EVERYONE WAS SO KIND AND SO WILLING TO GIVE TO OTHERS.I WAS VERY SURPRISED SO MUCH WAS
DONATED BECAUSE EVERYONE IS TIGHT THIS YEAR . BUT ALL OF YOU ARE SO WONDERFUL .
EVEN SOME BROUGHT IN TOYS AND GAVE MONEY THAT DIDN'T EVEN HAVE A CAR THERE.

THERE WERE SO MANY DIFFERENT CARS FROM SO FAR AWAY..THE JUDGES HAD A TUFF TIME.
ENCLOSED THERE ARE SOME PICTURES. I CAN GET MORE..DENNIS BENDER TOOK A BUNCH .BUT I CAN

Its gonna be a great time with food cars and friends what else could you ask for! We will be raffling off an Ls custom painted valve cover as well as the chance to get your own valve cover custom painted for free! Its open to EVERYONE! ALL MAKES ALL MODELS ARE WELCOME. The more the better we wanna fill the park. We will have little signs directing you where to go. We only ask that no one act like a tough guy and burn out and cause a scene because we wouldn't want the whole day ruined because of one person who decides he/she has to show off. Where here for fun!
