Default trunk/gas door release

okay so my trunk/gas release didnt work when i got my car and today i decided to figure out how to fix it well i followed the line all the way and its good and i pulled the lever and it poped the trunk but it was such a bitch could it need to be like oiled up and the gas door doesnt work still any ideas its a 88 rx7 but im sure its pretty much the same for everything

is the cable still connected at the lever?

and shoudn't this be in Mazda tech?

yeah its attached on both ends and i figured id get a quicker response here and its kinda a general piece you know its just a cable from trunk to lever but is there a way to like oil up the whole cable

I would loosen the cable ends and pull the cable out as far as I could and
spray "blaster" down into the outer housing.

Do the same on the other end. By hand, run the cable in and out until it loosens up.

If that doesn't do it, I carefully notch the outer housing (don't cut the inner cable) in about the middle and spray blaster in both directions from
the notch.-Bob

yeah i fixed it turned out to be the plastic pieces that stops it from sliding out of the bracket right where the levers are broke so i just ziptied it to the gas door lever so when ever you pull on it pulls against the other one so it works isnt the nicest way to fix it but it did the trick for now
