Default 1G vs 2G intake manifold

The car in question.

Dave Brode MAS -> turbo
Lower IC pipe stock
upper ic pipe Dave Brode
1g blowoff
Intake K&N
road race engeneering DP
Road race engeneering exhaust and or RS*R catback..
Profec B spec 2

The question is that is the 1G manifold a worthwhile upgrade for 60 dollars + shipping....

Should we have it ported and polish it? Will it fit ?

Is it necessary?

it's an upgrade. porting and polishing isn't going to hurt (well, it'll hurt low end a little, but the top end gains are well worth the hit). however, $60 plus shipping is overpriced...you should be able to pick one up locally for between $30-$50 easily.

I wouldnt port the intake all i've ever seen with friends porting there intakes all around loses. They dont gain enough up top to make up for the loss down low. They seem to work the best stock.

porting would be a waste of time on a stock intake manifold.
You can get it extrude honed, and thats been proven to make more power. but yet is expensive for the gain. I have a 1G intake i will sell ya for $20

if its on a 2g head, dont do it, unless your gonna open up the intake port to match the 1g intake, which IMO is not worth it and takes away some of the excellent dynamic of the 2g head, find an Evo 3 intake manifold
