All you people that have never built anything or gone fast are better off doing it yourself. A budget race car is ALOT easier and more fun to build than a street car. Sharing something is asking for trouble, especially if you are sharing with someone off the internet.

what's your plan for this car? 1g or 2g? local races, or for $$$? how much you want to put up? are we talking about splitting 4k like goodwill, or more? time committment? 1/4 secs? built internals?

I would love to see someone do a goodwill but awd, and with four goodsize slicks and one nasty ass turbo to spin all four for a burnout.

i would prefer an AWD, i would like for a track car, i would prefer to use a stock bottom end, as i dont think the project would suprass 500 whp, however, that would always be an option to go with, as far as budget, good question, i need to put thought into that, this post came on a whim of a thought that crossed my mind.....being as that it wouldn't be much of a street car (although i'd like to keep it tagged for special weekends), the least i would like to see out of a track car are deep deep 11's, 10's obviously i'd like to see, but that might be a little bit out of reach, depending on the budget...

why ya gotta be hatin' on goodwill?

AWD racecar = bunch of unnessary weight

we're pulling 1.7s right now, most people dont do that in their AWDs.

Put slicks on awd and see what you get. FWD will never launch as good as a awd can.You can pull 1.5`s with regular street tires with awd. But for a all out race car i dont have a problem with a well set up FWD. Just not my cup of tea...

"some mothafuckas are always trying to ice skate uphill"

AWD or RWD... maybe even LWD... definitly not FWD. sure, if you have a chip on your shoulder and something to prove, you could do a FWD, but why handicap yourself? Power is nothing w/o traction.

and mike, whats this "We" jazz...you got a mouse in your pocket? i fell out of the loop here... the only 87 buick worth having would be a T-type or GN... am i to assume thats what you have now?????
