Question some issues

well, the car is finally running and driveable. I just have a couple things that still need to be fixed up.

1) it takes about 5 seconds for the car to turn over. i might not be using the right terminology, but ill turn to key and it just cranks for about 5-7 seconds before it turns over. It never used to do this until i just put the new spark plug wires in.

2) i think im leaking coolant. Sometimes, when i stop, there is a puddle of coolant under my car. but other theres, it wont leak a drop. Havent been able to tell where its leaking from.

any ideas on my starting problem?

all in all the car feels fine, i have some nasty boost creep, but i still have the stock downpipe, so its no suprise.

um the leak is condensation from your ac if your running your ac... and the cranking for 5 seconds before starting is normal for a dsm..

the leaks, yes i said leaks, were coming from my coolant lines to the turbo. one hose was split, and the other just wasnt on tight enough. hopefully thats fixed. you can get the details from brandon or jason about the 1.5 hrs it took to straighten everything out.

the turbo isnt pulling as hard as i "heard" it would. maybe the downpipe/cat really restrict it a whole lot. or maybe something else is wrong with it. im going over to brians tommorow to take care of the boost leaks. he doesnt know it yet but ima see if i can fix my knocking exhuast too.

Yeah, if you have the stock downpipe/cat it won't let you see near your turbo's potential.

yeah, so i wake up this morning and all the coolant i put in last night is defiantly the cause of the big puddle of neon green shit under my car. i put some more in and it already started leaking out. its coming from somewhere above my oil filter.

of course i ocudlnt get in there and check it out since i was actually wearing a shirt with buttons for once, and i had a lunch date with the ex- meh..

open 02 sounds fun. maybe i will!

Water pump isnt really close to the oil filter there buddy. Maybe you should rethink your coolant hoses for the turbo, they seem to be leaking alot.
