Default GST Motor help

Im supposed to get a call today about a wrecked GST with a good motor for almost free if i do im going to buy it the prob is the tranny is gone in it but i have a 1.8L eclipse is it possble to use that tranny for the GST motor or would my best bet be to get a whole new tranny clutch flywheel etc... while i have this thing pulled apart what do u think it would all cost me?

No you cannot use the 1.8L tranny for the 2.0L motor.
there are 4 different transmissions that came in the 1G cars.
1.8L FWD
2.0L Non Turbo FWD
2.0L Turbo FWD
2.0L Turbo AWD

all the 2.0L trannys can bolt to all the 2.0L motors, but each tranny has a flywheel that need to be used with it and the respective clutch.

I have a 2.0L non turbo tranny, clutch and flywheel here for sale if you need SOMETHING to use to get that going. Best bet is a Turbo FWD tranny because its what is supposed to be there.

What year gst is it? How bad is it wrecked? I may be interested in it once you pull the motor.

ok, you didnt say the car was a 2G. I figured it was a 1G cause you have a 94 eclipse posted as your car.....

2G motor cannot go into a 1G
