Its sort of ghetto, but it does work ( right about now, you all stopped reading.) But if you take a craftsman 1/4 inch drive socket and fit the drive part onto the pin youll notice that it fits pretty snug. You cut off the actual socket part. to your liking, It eliminates the pin problem, and also makes your worn tensioner more usable. Lets say on a hardly used 6 mm socket, or smaller and round off the top of it. what it does is give your pin twice the contact area on your tensioner, which keeps it alot stronger.

the pin broke inside the tensioner, but anyways i got a new one from napa, they switched it out for me, put it in and fired it up. Idle surge has gonna away and power has double, so i guess the "new" one was broken since day one and just finally gave out. Im just glad the motor is alright, guess this means its not an interference motor.....

the same exact thing happens when you put the the timing belt guide on the crankshaft on backwards... (Dont ask) just enough to make it tap real loud, but not enough to bend anything.

The last 2 ive gotten from mitsu have given me problems in under 20 miles. I finally got fed up and reinstalled my original with 109K on it.
