How far will we go for a make-over?
How far will we go for a make-over?
Maco just wasn’t an option for the awd talon and any paint shop wants thousands of dollars for a decent paint job. Considering these circumstances the awd talon is getting a make over. No more flaking clear coat and blemishes from miles of debris abuse. Nick and I along with help from various other good friends have spent the last three weekends striping, sanding and prepping the talon for a less than normal paint called titanium grey (pearl). One might think painting a car is easy…and as I assumed it would be challenging but this project has by far presented its set of obstacles. Our finger prints are almost completely gone from all of the wet sanding. Yet the reward of working a car into a new paint job is finally starting to pay off. Here are some pics of the car in the beginning stages of stripping/sanding; I will have more pictures available as we finish painting the actual car this weekend. As of this moment only the front fenders, front and rear bumper, both doors and rear hatch have been sprayed.
its looking good man. lots of work left to do. who's car is it? i have another talon you can do that too. hehehe

The overcast skies do not give the fenders etc. justice, nor does my 99$ 2.0megapix camera. Pearl paint has an interesting effect in the light. The paint appears to darken with less light, and has the opposite effect with more light.
The car is nick's overboosting95. Im and the cars god father, as he is with mine.
Paint booth=a typical 2 car garage (a friends) with a huge fan to evacuate all the fumes and over spray.
Dry outside….no comment.
I have a feeling a lot more beer will be consumed this weekend!
