Default Evo questions.

What is the difference between a "base","rs",and "MR" Evo?..The skittle is putting me thru ALOT of bad times, and Dodge is facing law suits and other misc. activity from my side. ..But if i do end up getting all my money back, instead of getting a 05,I will be getting a Evo,the MR in the Gunmetal color is number one in my book,How much do they run?..All the other lines?..Everytime i mod it,will i have to send out the ecu?...Thanks guys,i might be part of the family soon enough ...Love it or Hate it

I know that the MR Evo has a little bit more horsepower and it has a Six Speed Manual Transmission instead of the standard Five Speed.

They all have the same hp.
The RS only comes in white and red and is lighter than the others.
It also doesnt come with a spoiler.
The MR is like a regular EVO but comes with a 6 speed instead of a 5 speed.
It also has a few other little things.

Go to mitsu web site and look at the three.
I like the RS alot but I want a black one like my galant.
So I will end up getting a regular evo in black with no sunroof and just take the spoiler off.

the mr has ALOT better suspension, has a bilstein suspension. pretty fucking nice suspension. the rs doesnt have ac. mr is 6 speed. rs is 5. same hp same torque. also mr has the vortex fins in the back. has like 15 of them, rs has non... that's about it.. but that bilstein suspension is pretty fuckin nice.... same suspension they use in lotus and whatnot. one of the top 5 cars in handling is the evo 8 mr...

There really aren't that many differences. Performance differences are, just like they said, the 6 speed transmission, a couple lightening items, a vortex thing on the roof. Other differences are bbs rims, boost gauge, oil psi, and volt meter, and HID's?

I think it's like 5g's more than your baseline evo. But if you have the money, go for it! Just don;t go to brandon mitsu.

As for modding, you're gonna have to really watch out for that. You need to keep all your stock parts, and you may just want to get a new ecu. One, that yoiu are going to keep for stock ride, and anmother for reflash (tune or whatever) and your mods. I would stick to bolt-ons if you're worried about warranty.

Hope to see another active dsmer out there soon!

Good luck.
