TurboCharging a 420A
I heard the 420A Engine isnt that strong. What can i do to make it hold 300+HP?
Im Looking into instead of Swappin for a 4G63t, just TurboCharging the 420A, but im not sure if it is a good idea. Can anyone tell me what i can do to Help? Is there anyone who has a Turboed 420A, if so, tell me what you did so i can get some ideas. Thanks. Your Help is Appreciated.

Do not attempt the swap.....much easier to turbo the 420a, and less expensive. You should also build that bottom end if you want to run over 8 psi intercooled....300+ hp can be done...just know that you have a pretty long road ahead of you. I am still saving money and buying turbo parts....i too am lookin to see around 300hp...just taking forever $*&%$

It is possible to make 300hp on a 420A. Its not easy, you have to do a lot of researching and have to have some knowledge on how to work on the 420A. I am probably one of the few boosted 420A's on TR and to this date (knock on wood) I havent had any major problems with it. I will say this, you wont get 300hp only boosting 8psi intercooled or below. Most boosted 420A's may start to see high 200's low 300hp between 15-22 psi intercooled with the proper build up. Like ^^ said, you would need to build a bottom end that can withstand the extra compression you will be pushing when you boost to get to 300hp. After the bottom end is done, take care of your fuel delivery to make sure you dont run lean and always monitor your egt's. There's my .02
