I backed into my sons 92 MR2 fender, cost 800 to fix. My insurance paid it and mine didn't go up. He had his own insurance and I had a different company. The damge in the picture does not look like 50 to me, but I'm not an adjuster.

 

My experience with insurance is that your premium does not go up every time you make a claim. I made a claim last year because somebody hit my fender bumper hood and headlight and didnt leavein surance. I talked to the adjuster, and she said my premium would not go up, however i would have to pay the 500 dollar deductible.

 

lol its ok, hes paying for another hood when I find one I want....id rather paint it myself and be satisfied with it then some shit shop insurance wants to cheap out on....I painted my front bumper.

Some situations are different and all insurance companies don't have the same policy.

 

$30-50 for a used hood. You won't find a new oem hood anymore for such an old car. Insurance adjusters determine what the damage and how much it will cost. They have a data system in which searches the database for local junkyards and how much it will cost. For example you go to cophers and pick up a hood for $30-50 but the insurance adjusters database says $300 for a used hood. Why because salvage yards see the chance to make money off the insurance companies. Not to mention they tag a high paint price. This is why sometimes insurance companies want to total your vehicle instead of fixing the damages. You can get the parts a lot cheaper then what companies charge insurance companies.

 

Damn that sucks man.. I know gsx/sc(Anthony) on here has a parts car with a good primer black hood. I think Ender might be picking up some parts from him and maybe he could pick up the hood for you while he is up here.
