Just bought a 90 GST, need help diagnosing

no havent tried a known good ecu, as i dont know of anybody with one, and most salvage yards dont have one in stock. does anybody have a loaner or can i bring my ecu to test on someones car? i have till the end of this week to get this thing up and running or im forced to sell it, which sucks cause i know this car has alot pf potential.

BTW the tach is very erratic bounces everywhere, what sensor sends the signal for the tach?

if the ECU is bad, should there be any visible signs or smells. becuase i check the ecu and opened it up all the connectors look good and the inside looks mint, this ecu has been changed before i think it is from a 93 eagle talon TSI as thats whats stated on it.(has the markings form a salvage yard.

if anybody would let me plug my ecu into their car that would be great

Yeah thats your problem...90s only are good in 90s. Find a 90 and youll be straight.

you have got to be shitting me...hahahahha

anyways the ecu thats in the car right now plugs right up to the harness.. can it still be possibly form a diffrent year?

what ecu's are interchangeable for this car?

1990 eclipse gs turbo

anyway i can identify what ecu i have?

any 1G ecu will work the car, if ya want it to work right, you need a 90.
too much to explain, but to test, go for any 1G. To fix get another 90.

yeah just found out a got i bunk ecu...damit.

tried testing in a working car and had the same symptoms....

so serching for one as we speak
