Are you sure you are ready to take that step? No offense.

Id really consider your goals and I am sure that DSMlink would be more than enough, but in the end it is your money and decision.

You can down load the 217 page manual and program off the aem board. I would look it over before you deside. The aem is a whole different animal.
I was blown away by all the maps I have to go through for just getting it to start idle.

well the truth is i dont know much about tunning and dsms period but i just wanted to get my car tune with the SAFC but my friend tells me that i need an ignition timing controller like the APEXI ITC, i was looking for one but i count find one but then i heard about dsmlink and it sounded good for the price but then again u need an eprom ecu and i dont have one so i just thought i would buy the aem system so i woulnt have to go trough all that trouble...... im currently running a 16g with some modds but thinking about a 35r or super 20g in the future..

what do u guys think: aem standalone
dsmlink
or safc wit and igniotion timing controller (if i can find one)

I told you to go with the AEM EMS because by the time you end buying an E-prom ECU and Dsmlink. You will be almost in the same price range.
I personally Have/had both and AEM is far more advanced.
And Dsmlink is really tuner friendly. Also you don't need the apex-ITC.
If you had an E-prom ECU you can chip it and lock timing.
