Default Well, it finally happened.

Ever since I built and boosted my 420A about 3 yrs ago I had always been careful whenever working on my car. Everything was going great, until 2 days ago. I am driving around doing some street tuning with the datalogger. Everything is ok, not as fine tuned as I wanted it but I was going to have the a/f fine tuned on the dyno next week. I put everything away and I begin to drive home. I am boosting at 15 psi and all is well. All of a sudden I spike to 20psi and run way lean. Like a scared little bitch, I pull over and give a quick inspection to see if I am blowing oil anywhere. Everything seems to be ok but to be on the safe side, I just take my BOV off to ensure I dont boost because I am only 2 miles from home. The next day, I do a visual check everywhere and notice that there is some oil on the ground. 1st thing I think of is I blew a gasket somewhere. So I get a gasket kit and go to town. Cleaned up everything and do a test run. I come back and after a couples of hours of cooling down, more oil is under the car. Something tells me to do a compression test, and what do you know....180 185 110 90. Did a little research and found out that I blew ring land and my HG which is why I am leaking so much oil. Aint that some shit....

On the lighter side of things though, I do have another motor that I can put in but I was having some machine work done so it will be a little while. I think this time though I will tune for 19 psi and leave it alone

Believe it or not, there is nothing to PM....I did find out this morning that hose from the turbo port to the wastegate actually cracked so I found out what caused me to spike. Not too bad of a worry though, since my spare block is already bored out I will just get a rebuild kit.

LOL, a 350 in my little old car??? That's almost as bad as swapping a 4g63 into my 420A engine bay . If you really want to help, you can find me some .020 JE, CP or Venoilia pistons and rings cheaper than $500. Rods and Bearings I have a source I can get them from but I am having a hell of a time trying to get pistons in 2 weeks. Other places that I have called are on back order and will take 4-6 weeks before they can ship and then another 7 days after that.

Arent you running forged pistons? I would take it apart and inspect it before you buy new pistons.... you might not have cracked the ringlands.

I do have forged internals and I just pulled Cylinder 4 out about 20 minutes ago and my ringlands are cracked so instead of just doing a half the job with 2 pistons having new rings I will just do all of them. I was thinking getting different pistons for the spare block I had anyway.

Sorry to hear about that. I know how it feels like. Well, if anything... I already have a rebuilted motor that i'm selling. It has Ross Forged Pistons 8.8:1, Crower Billet Rods, ARP head studs, and every factory part is new except the crank and the cams. LMK if interested.

I saw what you had for sale but spending $2300 is not what I want to do right now. I appreciate the offer though.
