4G63 MBC Install
4G63 MBC Install
I bought a Turbonetics manual boost controller, and the directions say I have to hook one side of the MBC to the wastegate's "vacuum port." Exactly where is this? I have a JDM 6-bolt engine, and I see the wastegate just under the intake pipe. There's a hose tapped into the side of the wastegate, which runs to a "T". The two other hoses connected to the "T" are as follows: One runs to the J pipe (the one that hooks up to the turbo and heads to the intercooler), while the other runs to a cap (I plugged off this line when I took out the faulty MBC the guy before me had in the car). Long story short...I'm not seeing a "vacuum port," and the instructions that came with the show that I have to hook the other side of the MBC to this so-called vac port. Here are the instructions:
I'm not seeing a vacuum port or a flange...HELP?!

those instructions are for an external gate, and it sounds like you have an internal. hook 2 vacuum sources to the T (one from the BOV, and another from your intake manifold) and then the other hole on the T should be connected to the "boost source" side of the MBC(i believe), and then connect another vacuum line from the other side of the mbc to the wastegate actuator.

ok you have a brass colored wastegate actuator.....hook a line from your intake manifold and bov to a T line. from there hook that to the in part of the mbc, on the other side of the mbc hook a line from there to the wastegate actuator.

LoL I don't think you understand how ni--I mean...AFRO ENGINEERED...my car is. It's a 6-bolt VR4 swap, and I just found out that the 2 hoses that came from the wastegate actuator are cut. My wastegate actuator does nothing...it's connected to nothing. Fuck.
Your an ass and I hope you sell your car.
