I have personaly seem someone ruin thier diff from using two different brands on the same size tire. Just having one set slightly more worn then the other can ruin the diff. All it takes is one brand to be slightly taller and you could ruin your diff over it. I personaly would never do that. But it doesnt surprise me when I hear of mitsu people that do. All it takes is for the front wheels to be turning at a slightly different speed then the rear and the diff will weld itself.

VC= viscous coupler

+1

Even if a tire blows out or something, people have shaved the new tire so that the level of tread is the same. The VC can be very sensitive and the last thing you want is it locking up on you.

If it blows out will I be able to drive it? Im about to drive from Cleveland to Tampa. If it blows I want to but a 4 bolt anyways, but not if my car wont move once its done. How fast would this happen?

Wait, the VC is in the tranny, I know this, what am I talking about. New Question-if the VC blows can I drive on it, or will this toast the center diff for some reason?

NEW News, I called the previous owner, hes had the 2 (different) front tires on for about 3000 miles. I would guess the damage is already done if it was that bad, Another question would be how can I easily tell the VC would be shot other than looking at it? Sorry for bumping the hell out of my own thread, for everyones info I bought this car up in PA and had it towed to my parents in OH and I am going up next weekend for labor day to put in tranny/clutch/flywheel and drive it back so thats why Im annoying the hell out of everyone.
