man if I chucked up 1600 for a pair of doors I think I would leave them carbon. you can paint them to match if you want.

squid skins offers the doors, front and rear bumper, fenders, wing and side skirts( i think) in carbon fiber...... i think that would look pretty tight on a car with black quarter panels.

I doubt the squid doors are anything but a door skin good for a race car. These doors accept all factory trimings and are a direct replacement for the steel door. Two different animals. Thats why there is such a price difference.

"Haha. You guys are funny. I've been telling people about this for over three years now. Squidskins, up in Canada has been selling the entire 2GB Talon body kit (aside from the rear quarters) made in fiberglass or carbon fiber for something like four years, now. Easily.

Those are a rip-off. Maybe it's a complete door made from CF, in which case you're dead in any side-impact, but if this is something you're really interested in, you should be contacting squidskins.

Look at this list of parts that was updated in 2004! Squidskins offers the hood, hatch, doors, side skirts, fenders, front and rear bumper covers, mirrors, and even dashboard in CF.

I've spoken with the owner and he's told me that, with the entire kit installed on "The Archer Car" (below), they shaved 600lbs off the weight of the car. For a consistant driver, that's over a half a second off your E.T.s.

I just don't get why someone would freak out over the chance to spend over $3000 for something that has been around for more than four years and is currently selling for far less. If I remember right, you could get the entire kit from squidskins for less than $5k USD.

Those doors went to some retard with a trailer queen show car who doesn't know any better. Fools and their money. Fools and their money..."
Dr1665 (quoted) talked to the owner of squidskinz awhile back, thats why i was under the impression of it being an entire door. I'd suppose so if they saved 600 lbs off the car. But they are in canada you never know! eh?!

HaHa. your the funny one. You are being ignorant assuming the quality of all carbon parts are the same. All I am saying is the skins from squid are just that . Skins. The quality of the two parts is NOT the same. If i had a racecar that wasn't driven on the street the squidskins would be the way to go. These new doors however are made for streetcars that want to have functioning doors that open and close like steel doors on a daily basis. The amount of reinforcing and structure is where the difference is.

Am I interested? Hell no. I wouldn't be caught dead owning a 2g. Never liked them never will. I always prefer function to form. I would rather drive something that drives killer but looks average to something that looks killer but drives like ass.

However, I would like to own an evo with carbon doors. They are available for the evo8 for 1440 a pair/2580 a set from Seibon. There is a company in new zealand that makes them for my evo1. They save 50lbs per door. If I new they where strong like a steal unit I would get them.

Im just quoting Mr. dr1665. I'd suppose if he talked to them over the phone he recieved a product description. I do like weight savings but if you were ever in a side impact accident your basically dead if you dont have a cage. Your explanation does seem a lot more logical than Dr.1665's though.
