ok car was running like pewpiez tonight. went to a friend's house, ran bad, drove home, even worse.

for a second i even thought it might be a cylinder not firing. i dunno for sure. when the car idles bad, it has bad acceleration and cruising and everything. so i was thinking it could be a bad plug, or coil, or something. would it hurt anything if the car was running, and i pull one spark plug wire out at a time and then put it back, to see if it makes any difference?

as far as i know, only the tps is throwing a code. ive had it scanned a few times, and it keeps coming back, ok, the tps is malfunctioning. it just seems like something worse than the tps being bad. i dunno though. would a misfiring cylinder throw a code everytime?

also, whats the buzzing coming from inside(or around) my intake manifold when the car is running? it cuts in and out sometimes, i just happened to notice it tonight when i was under the hood.

 

check ur plugs and cables. btw what cables are u runing?

 

It won't hurt your car to pull plug wires to test for a missing cylinder. I'm trying to remember how the TPS affects the ECU. I think it could cause problems in how the car runs if it's bad because the ECU does monitor it and factor it into engine load for accel enrich, but I don't know how bad it is if it's dead.

 

Fix the TPS. Its making the car run bad because you have whatever issue the code is, the ECU it reading it wrong and trying to correct how the car runs thus making it run like ass.

 

when you pull the plugs out, just dont touch any thing grounded, youll get a nice suprise hehe

 

im using ngk plugs and wires. plugs are bpr7es, gapped at .028

im thinkin about just goin ahead and buying a new tps or something.

sometimes the car runs fine, sometimes it runs like shit, most of the time it runs bad and when the idle isnt going crazy, it will idle down to like 500-600 rpms. ive tried the biss, but it doesnt make much difference. when its idling bad, if i try to give it gas to, raise it up to 1500-2000 rpms, it still bounces around. usually it will stall if its in neutral for too long, like after 5 seconds or so. i have to constantly keep giving it gas.

 

yea, well i think the first thing to do is replace the tps since the ecu is throwing a code for it. just get the CEL to turn off so you can rule that out.

 

im thinking IAC could be bad also making you have idle issues. However that shouldnt make your car run like ass.

oh hey as far as those springs, i dunno bro. i kinda like the ride height i have. the springs are H&R.

im gonna try adjusting the tps, if that doesnt work, ill buy a new one.
