there is supposed to be a bit of blow-by im pretty sure, just not that much. thats why the pcv (positive crankcase ventilation) valve is there.

so if you have a worn out dipstick seal, it might be pushed out by normal blow-by.

+1

Change your dipstick (get a new one).
Or figure out a way to hold your dipstick in place.

Speaking of blow by I just found out that my car has a ton of it . I don't know if it was put together wrong or if I fudged it up. But yeah I hope you don't have a lot of blow by man I just found out what it was and now I am going to have to re-build my motor.

ok well that really wasnt what i wanted to here about the whole rebuild thing cuz i did replace the pcv valve and it still did it but yeah i just took a good look at the motor and i really dont think its going to last much longer at all cuz it looks like the piston rings are just about done and i think the head gasket is about to go so if anyone has a motor i can get for a few hundred bucks let me know i aint got much cash at all thats why i took this car on even trade for a blown civic plus the cv joint are bad just not screwed yet

Just make a homemade catch can. Or buy one.
